A transaction queries or modifies the state of a blockchain. Sending, receiving, or trading would be defined as a transaction.

When sending tokens from the Avalanche® Wallet or Metamask it is important to have in mind that all transactions are final and irreversible. If a mistake is made and funds are sent to an incorrect address, there is no mechanism that can revert the transaction and return the funds. That's why it's critically important to be sure that the correct address and network are checked for compatibility. If you are not sure, test the validity of the transfer by sending a small amount first.
